WELCOME TO THE DIENAMIC MIS SOFTWARE INC. ESTIMATING DEMONSTRATION

The following screen images will take you through the routine of entering an estimate into our Trade Finishing Estimate System.

The purpose of this demonstration is to provide you with a general overview of the estimating procedure and the operations that the program covers.

The total loading time of this page may vary from user to user depending on system performance and the type of connection being used but it should take approximately 15 minutes due to the large images required to show high detail.

The buttons in the screens will be described but do NOT function.

When you first load the program the following screen appears:

wpe9.jpg (79740 bytes)

The option of Activities is pre selected so simply click on the OK Button. the following screen will appear:

wpeA.jpg (81061 bytes)

The option of New File is pre selected so simply click on the OK Button. the following screen will appear:

wpeB.jpg (79357 bytes)

The above dialogue box allows the estimator to type in the Title and Description.  The Estimator would also use the check boxes and pick lists menus to select the Estimator, Customer, Category and Material Supplied.  This information is added to the Estimate, the Letter and the Estimate History Program.

When all this information is entered it will look like the screen below.

wpeC.jpg (130473 bytes)

This brings you to the Input Screen. This is exactly that, a way to quickly enter the information required to generate an estimate.   Notice that the Description and the Title appear in the Input screen. Assign the next Estimate Number by clicking on the Estimate # Button on the right hand side of the screen.

wpeD.jpg (139243 bytes)

The Input screen will now appear as follows:

wpeE.jpg (139739 bytes)

The Demonstration will now highlight the cursor position with the Red box as displayed in the following screen. Enter up to 5 Quantities at 1 time. The demonstration will use 3 quantities. The quantities are entered as a short form i.e. 5 for 5,000 and 10 for 10,000 etc. You will enter 5, 10, 15.

wpeF.jpg (139940 bytes)

Notice that you would now move down to the Quick Code as highlighted by the Red box. The Quick Code is the key to the speed at which you can do estimates. The Quick Code allows you to pre program combinations of operations so that they are calculated by simply picking the appropriate code. This could be as generic as anything that is Die Cut, Stripped and Folded or as specific as ABC Company's software box. The more Quick codes you set up the easier and faster your estimates will be produced. The LU Button to the left of the Quick Code means that there's a Pick List available.

wpe10.jpg (139847 bytes)

Simply click on the LU Button and the following pick list will appear. You simply scroll down the list until you find the Quick Code you require.   We will scroll down until we find the description of the Pocket folder 2 Pocket 1up that we require. You can quickly move in the list by typing the first letter of the Quick Code. You will also notice that the pick list returns a number code for the description. This was done so that as you learn the codes for the various products you can simply enter the number without having to use the Pick List.

wpe11.jpg (140428 bytes)

When you have selected from the Pick List the following screen will appear.  The Quick Code entered the Fold Code automatically but the software has placed an ERR in the Paper Code.  Because it would be inconceivable to place a code with each type of paper the system forces you to select the paper type that will be used for this estimate.  In most cases you are not purchasing the paper but simply recording the characteristics of the paper for effects on the various operations.   If you are required to purchase  the paper you can do that with the program.   You can also purchase board and liner.  Notice that the Red Block is over the Paper Code. Simply click on the LU Button and the following Pick List will appear.

wpe12.jpg (142899 bytes)

Scroll down the pick list until you reach the required paper. Please remember you can change the descriptions in any of the pick list menus. For this estimate select the Coated Text 100lb. Notice that once that information is entered you will begin to get a price for the operations that have already been entered.

wpe13.jpg (145598 bytes)

The Red block is highlighting the price to show how easily and quickly it as calculated.

wpe14.jpg (146519 bytes)

You're estimate is finished. We will give you the ability to look at all the details and operations later in the demonstration.  First lets look at the breakdown of the price that was generated by the computer.  The following screen shows you the price broken down by Material, Labor, Dies and Outside Services. The software also provides you the ability to markup these costs individually.

wpe15.jpg (148095 bytes)

If you are happy with the selling price then you can fax a letter confirming the quote directly to the customer. The following screen will display the letter format. You can scan in your logo and also a diagram of the piece that you are quoting. This screen represents the top portion of the letter.

wpe16.jpg (88674 bytes)

The next screen represents the bottom portion of the letter. Notice that you have the option to break out operations as separate line items.   In this case the customer wanted the Steel Rule Die broken out as a separate cost and the system allowed us to quickly handle that request.

wpe17.jpg (97117 bytes)

Your estimate is now complete!  All Estimates can be saved and recalled for re-quoting.  At any point in the estimate you can drill down into the details of each operation contained within the estimate.  Within the details you have the flexibility to fine tune an estimate by overriding speeds and make-ready times.  To view the details of this demonstration estimate select the details option below or at the top left of this page.
